Businesses can apply for a share of £5 million to develop innovative applications of robotics and autonomous systems, the aim of this competition is to help UK companies explore new RAS opportunities. It will enable them to develop capabilities for applications in many sectors of the UK economy.

Many drones make light work
This Centre for Defence Enterprise (CDE) themed competition seeks to demonstrate and evaluate the benefit that Unmanned Air System (UAS) swarms could bring to defence.
Compound semiconductor applications
Innovate UK is to invest up to £4 million in innovative projects that help to speed up the use of compound semiconductors. This is in areas such as power electronics, RF/microwave, photonics and sensors. We are seeking proposals with large and scalable commercial potential.
Commercialisation of quantum technologies
Innovate UK and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council(EPSRC) are inviting business to apply for a share of £19.5 million to develop quantum technology prototypes or establish technical or market feasibility.
Autonomy in hazardous scene assessment
In this Centre for Defence Enterprise (CDE) themed competition we want to investigate the use of autonomous systems to assess scenes that are potentially contaminated with hazardous materials. There is up to £1 million phase-1 research funding available.
Connected and autonomous vehicles
Businesses can apply for a share of up to £35 million to research and develop connected and autonomous vehicle technologies. Projects need to come up with technical solutions that provide real-world benefits to users. This includes how these vehicles will work as part of a wider transport system.
Global cooperation feasibility studies
Innovate UK is to invest up to £1.2 million to support innovative UK SMEs in carrying out short international cooperation feasibility studies. These studies should build international business networks. The aim is to enable commercial research and innovation partnerships, and future collaboration.
