Coilcraft will be joining Motiv8 Forums at both of next months Electronics Forums focusing on LED & Lighting, inc IoT / M2M & Wearable Tech.
Come and meet with Coilcraft in Oxford at the Williams F1 HQ on the 8th of March register here and on the 9th of March in Cambridge at the Moller Centre register here. where they will be presenting the following –
Energy harvesting enters IOT world
IOT applications often require communication and interaction with different sensors, many of which are able to capture energy readily available from the environment.
Silicon solutions are now available in the market that are able to gather energy from very low input voltage sources and convert it to usable output voltages to power microprocessors, wireless transmitters and analog sensors.
Such applications typically require much more peak power, at higher voltages, than the input voltage source can produce, and sometimes the traditional battery power is inconvenient or impractical.
For these applications, Coilcraft offers its miniature LPR step-up transformer which has been selected by Linear Technology for their LTC3108 and LTC3109 ultralow voltage step-up converter and power managers to provide a complete power management solution for wireless sensing and data acquisition.
Applications for this solution include Remote Sensors and Radio Power, Surplus Heat Energy Harvesting, HVAC Systems, Industrial Wireless Sensing, Automatic Metering, Building Automation and Predictive Maintenance.
