Take the opportunity for unique training presented by engineers with over 100 years of combined experience, aimed at new & existing accelerometer users in the aerospace, automotive, industrial sectors & more…….

DJB Instruments (UK) Ltd have teamed up with Data Physics (UK) Ltd and Kemo Ltd to offer a technically focused training day covering the whole vibration measurement process from accelerometer through DAQ and signal processing. The presentations will be underpinned with practical demonstrations and the day will also be accompanied by a small exhibition, Q&A Forum and will finish with a factory tour of the UK’s only factory making test & measurement PE accelerometers, a truly unique opportunity.
Who should attend?
This course is aimed at existing vibration and NVH engineers, experienced engineers, new users, specifiers and product designers from automotive, aerospace, electronics, industrial and sports science fields.  The training is presented by 3 engineers with over 100 years of combined experience in vibration testing and signal processing, their experience of typical pitfalls to be avoided and best practice, will be brought to the fore to encourage delegates to questions their current processes for the better.
Where and how much will it cost?
The course is to be held at The Riverside House Hotel, Mildenhall Suffolk, the cost including refreshments throughout the day, lunch, full course notes is just £100+VAT per delegate, for delegates travelling from further afield, a discount B&B rate has been arranged with the hotel.
The agenda is as follows:
9.00am      Registration, Tea/coffee
9.15am      “Accelerometers, the truth and more”
A presentation that focuses on the importance of the sensor in the measurement process.   Looking at the specifics of how accelerometers work, the different types, correct selection, cable types, mounting and minimising noise effects.
11.15am   Tea, coffee & exhibition space
11.40am   “Are you letting noise in?”
A presentation aimed at questioning the optimisation of a measurement path, from         transducer to data acquisition. Topics covered will be dynamic range, gain, hidden overloads and distortion. Common problems, and some thought provoking examples of   less than perfect practice in the modern environment.
12.20pm   Lunch & exhibition
1.00pm     “Data Acquisition techniques for modal analysis – An introduction”
A presentation detailing some of the processes and procedures behind data acquisition and signal processing considering sensors, coupling and frequency range, including practical demonstration to highlight various techniques as well as common pitfalls to avoid. Finishing with a look at post processing of data captured.
3.00pm     Q&A Panel
3.45pm     Factory tour
This course is part of DJB Instruments training program aimed at improving customer data and understanding of their measurement process, current events include:
• April 25th             “Accelerometer Selection and Signal Processing Basics.”
In association with DJB, Data Physics and Kemo

The Riverside House Hotel, Mildenhall, Suffolk. Includes a factory tour
• June 6th                 “Accelerometers, the truth and more.” Includes a factory tour, DJB HQ
• June 13th & 14th  ‘Vibration shaker testing’ In association with Data Physics, College Court, Leicester
Feedback from previous training events
“The training was comprehensive and informative, having seen an accelerometer constructed it has improved our understanding of the technology that we use to test many of our products…”
“I found the course very interesting and feel it gave me some very useful information and turned me into a far more conscious accelerometer user.”
“The presentations themselves were excellent, detailing the basics all the way up to the advanced concepts has given me a lot to think about in our own internal setup. The presenters were knowledgeable and were always keen to answer questions, even on specialist or challenging topics.
