Design engineers are being challenged to carry out whole system diagnostics and characterization to determine safe, reliable and predictable behavior of the next generation on-board control and environmental electronic systems.
Until now engineers had adopted a wide variety of approaches to construct testing solutions, many involving multiple instruments and recording systems so they can measure and diagnose the interaction between every physical sensor, ECU, motor or anything else that is going on in the vehicle.
Ideally what is required is an instrument that offers:
– the flexibility of a mixed signal oscilloscope
– multi-channel multiple speed data acquisition system that can be used for long-term recording
– support real-time data capture and analysis
– presents results in an easy- to-understand format
